For this particular song I am going to do the style of mostly interpretative but also a sub style of narrative. My idea is going to be taking the lyrics quite simply and interpreting them into the song visually, as well as having a loose story line. The story line will be about a girl struggling with a relationship (the lyrics talk about a relationship). The first minute of the music video will show a girl sitting alone in a darkened room (due to the lyrics) as well as a lot of establishing shots to make it look aesthetically interesting.
The conventions that I will be attempting to use is lyric interpretation and possibly lighting for mood, but this depends on the resources I will have access to. As for techniques, I will be using cutting to beat and for camera techniques I would like to use a pan, zoom, close up, establishing shot and mid shot. When producing a music video, the things that would cost money are editing, the facilities and clearance of a song - however this will no be costing me anything as the cameras will be funded by the college, the software for editing is on the college computers, any actors will be my peers, it will be filmed in the college and lastly any music will be taken for free from YouTube.
